Reproducing History
C.J. Anderson has been helping restore historic buildings throughout the world. Whether a private residence, classic hotel, government building or national landmark, reproducing and restoring original fixtures is our specialty.
We can bring any elevator up to current elevator and ADA code requirements illuminated buttons, braille, emergency lights, fire service, hands free communication, telephone cabinets, service cabinets, etc. while retaining the historic look of the building. The buttons can be made in a variety of finishes as well as brass and stainless steel.
If you have an existing fixture plate or dial indicator we can reproduce it by either casting the plate or having a new pattern made. We enjoy working on special projects concerning our nation’s history. Please contact us if you are working on a project that is a historic treasure. If you have photographs you can e-mail us at sales@cjanderson.com we can better assist with what options you have. Once we view the photographs we can proceed with pricing.
The Antique Fixture Process
CJA manufactures a complete line of solid cast fixtures for the elevator industry. Some of these fixtures are a carry-over from the days when castings were the only way to make fixtures. Others have been developed in answer to architect’s and building owner’s restoration demands and most recently we have seen an emerging market for new construction.
Because there has been such a resurgence of this line of fixtures we are only showing some of the variations being made and a number of the face plate styles available now.
The design and construction of the Classic Fixtures line is a combination of the following:
Material - The fixtures can be either solid cast yellow brass, bronze, or aluminum.
Texture - The various surface finishes are semi-smooth or natural or textured granular.
Colors - The natural metal colors available are yellow brass and bronze.

Dial Type Indicators
C.J. Anderson & Company can restore, reproduce or provide a new dial type indicator for your project. With cast cover plates that achieve the look of yesterday and solid state controls of today, you’ll get smooth arrow movement provided by a custom designed miniature solid state motor and digital drive.
Solid State Controls
Wiring is a breeze whether you mount one in the lobby or one at each floor. Our serial link system requires that you run only three wires from a master control unit, which is mounted on the controller door and wired into each floor output. If you’ve got dial indicators at each landing all you need to do is run the same three wires to those units too. What could be easier.
Models Available
Dial type indicators come in two different replicated plates, however we can duplicate any existing plate in the field today. Choose from 180 degree to 360. The units are programmed before they leave our facility to ensure that they function correctly when installed.

Yellow Brass, or what looks like gold, is a very popular material choice. It can be antiqued to a variety of shades and colors.
|
|
Bronze, or what looks brown, is closer to what most of the original castings were manufactured of during the early 1900's.
|
|
Aluminum castings have started to make a come back for projects that are closer to the 1950's and 1960's. They are much lighter than their counter parts, bronze and yellow brass and hold up exceptionally well.
